PS3 vs Xbox 360 Elite

Posted by Manusia dan Dunia On 5:02 PM 0 Comment

The top two giants of gaming, Xbox 360 Elite and PS3 (PlayStation 3) Slim of this generation are battling head-to-head for budget customers at lower prices. Both of them are available at a price of $299 USD in the United States of America and 299 Euros in Europe. This is indeed a superb bargain to favor consumers. The PS3 provides a brand new price tag and is very lean.
But sadly, Sony had to eliminate backward compatibility, few ports of the memory card and Linux support to reduce the price of PS3. Still, the customers can avail a fantastic gaming machine with a Blu-Ray player which has stood in competition. Some curious services are also offered like the PSP and home connectivity which will attract some people.

There are a few common hardware features of the two gaming machines. That is, the black color, the 120GB size of hard disk, no cables but features HDMI and controllers is available in both the machines.
In PlayStation 3, you have a wireless adaptor and the hard disk of 120GB can be upgraded. In PS3, you have 2 USB ports, a built-in Wi-Fi, disc drives such as a CD, Blu-Ray and DVD, Bluetooth and free online play. The format of the optical disk is Blu-Ray in PS3. The video streaming online can be done through SonyVideo Store for PS3. The extra services offered by the PS3 are PSP Tunneling, Web Browser, HOME and Trophies. Blu-Ray is a primary aspect of the PS3.
The Xbox 360 has the best library of games and online services. In Xbox 360 Elite, you have 3 USB ports, Wi-Fi is an Add-On at a price of $99, disc drives like a DVD and CD, partial backward capability of the previous generation and $50 for online play. The format of the optical disk is DVD-9. The video streaming online can be done through Netflix (USA). The extra services offered by the Xbox 360 are Gamer Card, Zune, Avatars and Community Games.
The Xbox 360 is still attempting to compete when it comes to features. The key feature missing is the Wi-Fi adaptor on board. Microsoft now sells an expensive adaptor as an additional accessory. If users wish to go online, then they have got to pay for ‘Xbox live Gold’ priced at $49 for a year. The Silver members can still access achievements, Avatars and game demos.
The Xbox 360 depends on DVD discs for content but is disappointing for the video geeks who would prefer the Blu-Ray’s HD capability. Also, Microsoft is the only manufacturer till date to permit users to stream the movies of ‘Netflix’ from their ultra-convenient console. Zune users can plug their devices to ‘Xbox Live’ for accessing multimedia content.
The wonderful blend of solid online, huge lineup of the latest games and the Blu-Ray player makes the PS3 appealing naturally. But, the build quality of PS3 is not that good. In case, the Xbox 360 wishes to compete with the PS3, then they have to make some solid changes in offering their product. For instance, they need to reduce the subscription fee for the ‘Xbox Live’ and include a Wi-Fi adaptor in the box. But, still Sony is way ahead in competition with the Xbox 360 of Microsoft.
